Mantombi Mapanzela

Mantombi Mapanzela brings over three decades of combined experience in business, education, and community leadership.

A seasoned entrepreneur and trailblazer in the mining and construction sectors, she currently serves as the Chairperson of SAWIMIH, having been one of its founding members in 2003, alongside her earlier involvement as a founding member of SAWIMA in 1999.

She has had the honour of chairing both organizations, playing a pivotal role in advocating for and empowering women in the mining industry.

Before entering the business world, Ms. Mapanzela served as a lecturer at Mokopane College of Education for ten years, setting the foundation for her lifelong commitment to education and leadership. Her business acumen is evidenced in her role as National President of the NAFCOC Women’s Chamber, and as Managing Member of Abigail Construction and Cosmo Leisure as well as National Chairperson of SAWIMA.

Her governance experience includes serving as a director ,of several prominent entities, including:

  • Capricorn FM, one of Limpopo’s leading commercial radio stations
  • Foskor Zicornia
  • SAWIMIH


Ms. Mapanzela holds numerous academic qualifications, reflecting her passion for continuous learning and development. These include:
